The Radio Star was named after the hit 80’s song “Video Killed The Radio Star” by The Buggles. When MTV aired for the first time August 1 1981, “Video Killed The Radio Star” was the first song to play on the 24-hour network. It was the perfect song to join music and television together. The band only made one album, but Trevor Horn—singer and bassist—continued his career in music as a producer.
