On January 21, Huntington Beach High School’s (HBHS) Link Crew hosted their annual Cookies & Cram event, an initiative designed to help students prepare for finals in a supportive and stress-free environment. Held in the Student Center, the event brought together students of all grade levels for an afternoon filled with snacks, study resources, and community bonding.
The setup featured several dedicated sections to meet different needs. The open tables provided a space for group study and collaboration, while tutoring tables offered one-on-one support for students needing extra help. The wellness corner, hosted in collaboration with the Love Like Aly Wellness Center, was a standout feature. This area offered kickboxing and meditation sessions, allowing students to release pent-up energy and find mental clarity. Art supplies like paint, markers and crayons were also left out to encourage mindfulness and creativity as a way to relieve stress. Adding to the relaxing atmosphere, therapy dogs were available for students to pet and interact with—a feature many attendees described as a highlight of the event.
Link Crew members played a key role in coordinating the event, assisting students and distributing an assortment of delicious snacks, including chips, cookies, and hot chocolate. Their efforts contributed to a welcoming and cheerful atmosphere that made the student center feel like a hub of encouragement and productivity.
HBHS freshman Ella Marques said, “Having support from my friends and access to tutoring really motivated me to stay focused and feel prepared for finals.”
Whether channeling their energy into physical movement or practicing calming techniques, students appreciated the chance to reset and recharge. By engaging in these activities, many felt better equipped to handle the demands of their academic workload.
This thoughtful event left a lasting impression on the student body, motivating them to tackle their upcoming exams with renewed confidence and focus.
HBHS sophomore Chloe Haus said, “Studying in a welcoming environment alongside my friends made all the difference.”
Cookies & Cram not only fostered academic success but also reinforced a sense of community and wellness, demonstrating the power of support and connection during challenging times.
