i’ll run before you can bite

This poem is about how I’m scared of reaching out to people in fear of rejection. I tend to have a push-pull personality. However, by limiting myself and keeping myself in my sheltered space, I could miss out on a lot of opportunities.

i’ll run before you can bite 

i’ll hide before you can find 

i’ll protect before you can lash

ill seek shelter before you can destroy, 

 

but then ill never see light until it’s dark,

i’ll watch from inside
