Extended Lunch Prom Assembly

On Thursday, April 25, Huntington Beach High School (HBHS) hosted the “Extended Lunch Prom Assembly” to get the staff members and the student body excited for the prom on April 27. This year’s theme was “A Night in Greece”, which also had spirit days leading up to the day of prom.

During lunch, students gathered in the amphitheater for live music played by APA’s  MMET. As they listened, they waited for ASB to announce prom king and queen, and spent time with friends and classmates.

HBHS Senior, Alyssa Gorman, said, “ Everyone was in good spirits all around. For most of us, it’s our last dance, so we’re all taking the time to just enjoy ourselves and the people around us to the fullest!”

The amphitheater was decorated with balloon arches and posters. Everyone had so much fun hanging out with friends and classmates, while also listening to MMET students perform.

HBHS senior, Sarah Low, said, “I enjoyed listening to the live bands playing it was the perfect set list to listen to while getting to see all my friends!”

Not only did we have live music, but we also had APA’s dance department and HBHS dance team come out with amazing performances.

I was dancing in this event so it was fun to interact with my fellow dancers and have the crowd positively responding to our performance,” said HBHS senior, Maddy York

Overall, the “Extended Lunch Prom Assembly” was an amazing event for everyone. It got all the students involved and hyped for a prom that would take place later that weekend.
